Overflowing Creativity with Kittie : The fashion designer turned business owner on how art is a lifestyle and an active choice.

We were curious at how they grind, stay true to their art, and keep it real, even when the odds are stacked against them. These folks are all about putting in the work and staying consistent, proving that passion and creativity know no boundaries.

In this edition, we present Kittie Yiyi.

Who are you and how do you make art?

KYY: I'm Kittie Yiyi, I make art through my daily life. From my morning breakfast, I can do wordplay on my fried egg, turn my dull face bright using colourful makeup, and convert fabrics into a dress. Everything I see and touch can be a piece of art.

What does staying consistent look like to you?

KYY: The only way to stay consistent is to stay changing.

Everyone is weird, everyone is unique.

Why is it important for you to keep doing what you’re doing?

KYY: It's a sense of belonging, an urge to bring my values of "everyone is weird, everyone is unique" alive and going, it's a legacy.

How do you think you’re breaking boundaries?

KYY: Always thinking the opposite of certain statements. Also, always thinking of how to accept every statement.

What is the story behind your look?

KYY: Funny fact about me right now, I feel jealous of some people's dark eye circles, they are so beautiful. I often feel tired with my daily errands but I have so many reasons to keep doing what I like. I guess this is a real passion. I call my face, "tired but make it beautiful". We can never get tired of things we like. We can never stop being beautiful until our last breath.

What’s your favourite product from this campaign?

KYY: What else? the Eyeshadays! There are so many fun colours, the glitters are in rainbow colours, the shapes are so cute, and all the Eyeshadays stand out so much even on their own. The packaging is my favourite! They remind me of the old days when I used to paint on books.
